Abidas Ash

Biography

Abidas Ash is a former volunteer in the marine program at UB ERI. She now serves as the UB ERI Avian Biologist responsible for establishing five Monitoring Overwintering Survival of Neotropical Migrants (MoSI) stations at five locations as a part of a long-term monitoring project for the National Biodiversity Monitoring Program in Belize. Prior to joining the UB ERI team she worked at the Toucan Ridge Ecology and Education Society as an Avian Technician. Abidas holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management from the University of Belize and is certified as Bird Bander Trainer. She conducts training on bird monitoring techniques and bird identification to develop the capacity of rangers, students, and youths to improve the quality of data collected and promote conservation stewardship. She has been asked to be the MoSI Central America Coordinator by the Institute of the Bird Populations.
