Biography

Hello there! My name is Jess. I am currently immersed in some exciting scientific endeavors, ready to learn more about the natural world and do my part to assist the development of evidence-based management and conservation practices that protect our terrestrial, freshwater, and marine environments.

One of my core interests is in ecology. I have studied the web-building strategies of spiders in Ecuador, as well as the water mites of Belize. My Master of Science was completed in 2024 on antipredator adaptation tradeoffs across an elevational gradient. I am also passionate about data, and have previously compiled, validated, and analyzed long-term environmental datasets.

I am fortunate to contribute to the ERI as their data scientist. My primary focus is on elevating our analytical capabilities for long-term data and implementing standards and best-practice solutions for our existing and new datasets. I am always happy to discuss new collaborative opportunities in data science and ecology, so feel free to reach out!
