Ninon has been with the UB ERI since 2015, having started as the Research and Education Officer, where she led much of the marine program’s work focusing on the seagrass, mangrove, and coral reef ecosystems of the Turneffe Atoll Marine Reserve. Ninon serves on national marine monitoring working groups and supports partner NGO programs in training and program development. Ninon has taught in both the Natural Resource Management and Marine Biology programs at the University of Belize, and she now serves as the Marine Program Manager for the Institute. Ninon holds a Master’s degree in Biology, Bachelor’s in Environmental Science, is now pursuing her PhD at Boston University with main research interest in the community connectivity between the mangrove and reef ecosystems.
