I was born in Jamaica and relocated to Belize, where I have been living for approximately 20
years now. At an early age, I aspired to become a businesswoman and philanthropist.
Childhood games with my siblings involved me pretending to be in an office, doing the work
of a manager and interacting with my customers. As I grew up and pursued my education,
those dreams led me to major in business management, for which I hold a bachelor’s degree
and have recently completed my master’s degree in Human Resource Management. I have
worked at the University of Belize for 5 years now, initially as a Human Resource Clerk
(HRIS), where I gained valuable experiences that helped pave the way for my recent
promotion to Administrative Assistant at ERI, where I feel I am now at home. Although the
path has been tough, a valuable lesson learned is that one should remain steadfast, even when
situations around one try to throw them off balance. The end result is that people are
watching and do admire you, even if it may seem as if it is going unnoticed but with time,
things will work out in your favour.
