Biography

Ronny Gongora is an MPhil candidate in the University of Belize MPhil programme, focusing his research on marine ecology. His thesis assesses the diet of invasive lionfish (Pterois sp.) in the South Water Caye Marine Reserve, with the aim of improving understanding of their ecological impacts on native communities. Through his research, Ronny applies field sampling and stomach content analysis to generate evidence that can inform lionfish management and reef conservation strategies in Belize.
