The University of Belize Environmental Research Institute (UB-ERI) invites passionate and driven marine scientists to apply for the position of Marine Science Program Manager, a leadership role at the forefront of applied research, innovation, and training in Belize’s coastal and marine ecosystems.
UB-ERI plays a leading role in advancing research and conservation across Belize’s coral reefs, seagrass meadows, mangrove forests, and fisheries. Through partnerships with national and international collaborators, the Marine Science Program integrates cutting-edge research, field-based learning, and policy engagement to support Belize’s blue economy and long-term marine resilience.
Marine Science Program Manager
UB-ERI is seeking a dynamic and committed Marine Science Program Manager to lead a growing portfolio of research, training, and outreach initiatives across Belize’s coastal and marine ecosystems.This position functions at a Principal Investigator (PI) level, with responsibility for designing and leading independent and collaborative research, securing external funding, supervising research teams and students, and publishing scientific results. The successful candidate will also guide field-based research from Calabash Caye Field Station, foster partnerships across government, NGOs, academia, and international networks, and contribute to national science and conservation priorities.
